www.aev-conversions.com/Vehicle_Hemi.htmlYou jeep guys gotta grab an eyeball of that! Does 355 horsepower and 375 lb/ft of torque in a Jeep sound excessive? IT IS! Imagine twice as much power as the stock 4.0L and it's only 57lbs heavier. Dealer serviceable, reliable, and modern, the 5.7 HEMI is a real powerhouse. Combined with the 5-45RFE five speed automatic transmission, the HEMI TJ’s are an absolute blast to drive both during the week and on the weekends. Very Cool Stuff.

That is AWESOME!!! ;D That is way more power that what you could ever need in a Jeep but man it would be fun to have it. I can't believe it gets better gas mileage and is only 57 lbs heavier. What an addition that would be to the ol TJ. My '79 CJ 7 that had the AMC 304 in it was a LOT O FUN to drive with that 3 speed trans. The double overdrive on the new trans would be real nice. Who is going to be the first to get on swapped in?? I nominate Max!! haha

I checked into this whole Hemi deal and it would be pretty sweet to have that upgrade but the total cost from start to finish with the trans swap and everything would run about $14,000. If I am going to spend that kind of money on my TJ I am going to have one bad ass off-road, hill climbing TJ. Not just an engine to brag about. Still, it is a fun idea to entertain.
