I recently had my eyes examined and got new glasses. The Doctor boosted the prescription in my left lens to bring my eyes up to an equal plane. Now I have a problem that I have never had before! When I shoot my bows I keep both eyes open. I acquire the target and use both eyes to help sight the bow. With my new glasses I am constantly shooting to the left of the bulls eye by about 3 inches. With my old glasses I am dead on the X. What the heck is going on? It's like my left eye is trying to become Dominant! Has anyone ever had this happen to them before? If so what did you do to cure it? The only way I can now shoot and still be on target is to close my left eye as I sight on the target. I really don't want to do this because it isn't the most accurate way for me to shoot. Dick

Dick,
I am not sure why this happens. I have noticed I cannot hit a softball with my new glasses on, I undercut it everytime, my eye sight is not that bad so I can play without my glasses. You got me to thinking and I better get out and start target practicin with my muzzle loader and see if that affects my shooting. With such a crazy summer havent had much time for practicing, and with blackpowder season next month I better find out!
Might want to talk to your optometrist and see what he says causes the difference. Good luck on figurin it out!

Well, I did a bunch of shooting today while The Old Sarge watched and made observations about my form. I had her watch my eyes as I drew and shot. I tested out everything that I have been told to try out and I found that the best tip was to blink before the shot. I was then able to keep both eyes open during the shot and to shoot dead on the X ring! Thanks to everyone for the Tips and the help! Dick

Looks like you got everthing worked out Dick. A few years ago, I got hit just above my right eye at a concert. Hard enough it knocked me out and I got about 30 stitches out of it. Ever since then my dominate eye changes all the time. It is weird! Every once in awhile I check which one in dominate. Usually it's the right.
