Ed, Eric, and Max! And whoever else enjoys a great day in the mountains! Little over a week ago Ed and Tracy came over to visit for the weekend and to take in a rodeo, we had a busy weekend and not much time to slow down to enjoy the little bit of 4 whellin we did, but we showed Ed and Tracy some gorgeous country and I think they are ready to come back and take in some more trails. I was doin some surfin on here this morning on the Taylor area and came across this site. hobojeepers.tripod.com/TaylorPark01.htm Part of this trip is what we took Ed and Tracy on, and was talking the Italian Mountain trip would be the next drive. The Crystal trail is one I have been partially on but only on foot, have never been all the way over it. But it looks like a great jeep ride!! And can tell you the pictures dont do the scenery justice! I lived around Marble area for 4 years and did a lot of fishin and hikin and loved the views! Cindy

That looks awesome Cindy!! I would love to see this area and do some trail driving, hiking or whatever else we decide to do. I wish I could have joined you guys that weekend. I have not talked to Ed since we did our camping trip a few weeks ago. We need to get back out there though. Ed I am ready to set up another time and date for a camping, fishing and wheelin trip.

Well I know the weather can be a damper. It rained the whole 2 1/2 hours of the Friday night rodeo but still had fun. Things were a little sloppy in the arena. Greg had to pull security on Saturday at the rodeo so we went for a short drive in the morning with Ed and Tracy. Not a real rough 4x4 drive, in fact saw a few cars farther in there than I would have taken them...haha...bet they drug bottom a few times. But seen some awsome country, and to think we were only a few miles from Marble as the crow flies. The views around Gothic, and Schofield are breath taking. I will have to try to post some pics on here of the drive we took. It was a hurried weekend but it was fun.
I would love to take this same 4x4 drive as on that site, but we wont take the truck over the crystal or Taylor pass trails. We do some heavy 4 wheelin in the truck but when it is narrow cant do anything about that, and I dont much care for those steep drop offs on the narrow trails with a truck....lol.
We will have to try to set a date that works for everyone. Hope Max feels up to a trip!

The rain will never stop me. There are ways around dealing with the rain and you will dry out. I get wet every morning when I take a shower so a little extra water on the skin won't kill me. I just love to be outside. The trip that I went on with Tracy and Ed was very nice even with the rain (and snow at the top of the pass). It rained during the afternoon or evening but it quit at night so we could sit around the fire and enjoy talking over a few beers. It did that on both days. That is fine by me. We need the rain and it kept it cool for sleeping. Didn't get to do any fishing but we still had a great time. We got to cross a pretty nice stream and we drove up a pretty awesome trail that ended up being a dead end right before the summit due to a snow bank that had yet to melt. That was aggravating but it was a lot of fun none-the-less. I look forward to another trip like that with Ed and Tracy. I hope that you and Greg can make it along with Max and Shelly. It was a lot of fun with just the four of us so I can't imagine how much fun it would be with all of us!!

I have to bring my camera to work with me because something has dissabled my computer at home. I need to talk to Max and see if he has any idea what happened. I think I have a virus or something because my computer says that it is not connected to the internet when in fact it is. It has an on board network card so who knows what the heck is going on. I suck at fixing computers. I am better and things that run on gas and oil!! ;D Anyway, I will get that picture in here for you and send it to you. Eric
