Anyone want to set up a local fishing and camping adventure? I liked that place Ed, Tracy and I camped at over by Cottenwood Pass. Not too much fishing around there but it was still a fun camping trip. I am up for just a day trip somewhere too. I don't know if you are still working weekends Ed but if you have a Saturday or Sunday free we should go.

A campin trip sounds pretty good to me! I think Ed is still working weekends so might be hard to plan a weekend trip, but lets see what we can hash out.

I know my girfriend and me are up for it if you and Greg are. I really would like Ed to join but I don't think I will be able to do much with Ed that involves overnight trips since he works weekends and I work weekdays. Ed and I will have to limit our visits to quick evening trips or something like that. I am up for camping anywhere and I have not even been in my tent once this year so I am more than ready to get out there!

Well lets check out the calendar and see what dates are open. I know the weekend of August 6th I will be at a family reunion in Canon City so thats out (but to tell the truth would rather be in the cool mountain air and not somewhere hot!) Any suggestions of when or where?

Hey Ed! Of course you have been missed! Greg starts bear huntin first weekend in September, hopin he fills his tag first weekend as have seen a lot of bear in the area he will be hunting, but we all know these animals seem to vanish when you have a tag I just hope it dont take the full month of weekends to get his bear. Our blackpowder season for elk starts the 10th of September till the 18th. So, depending on how productive our hunting is to whether we have any free weekends in September. Plan your camping and if we can make it we will be there! Cindy

Hey Cindy! Tell Greg I wish him luck on his bear hunt. I think your statement is true with all animals.....come hunting season, they all disappear! I got a left over elk tag for late Nov. in unit 86. I know of a few good places to hunt in this unit. But with out a horse, it will be alot of walking for me! Tracy's horse is still to green for me to ride. Ed Hey Ed! Of course you have been missed! Good Morning Ed, Greg, Nate, and I are going for a scouting on Sunday in an area we havent been into in 15 years. There is a reason we havent been in there, it is a steep and jagged hike, we have seen elk and deer both in this place but its one of those places that downing a nice bull might be worth it but not for a cow, can get a cow in easier places. Cant get a horse in there, one nice thing is its all down hill from this place. To get into this basin is a steep hike, there are only two ways in and out of this basin, we want to show Nate how to get into it, Greg will go into it on the lower end, Nate and I have about a two hour longer hike to go around the backside and over top of peak where we will sit and wait for Greg to enter basin, everytime we have been in there the elk and deer go up this slide rock and over the top where Nate and I will be sitting in a pile of boulders. I got a shot with a bow one year at a nice buck, it was snowing, and the wind was blowing, and it was my first year archery hunting, I missed a 15 yard shot....haha...at 13,000 ft elevation I was froze! Greg said thanks for the luck Last year we saw bears everyday when we went out with our son, we shall see if its the same this year, the choke cherries and rasberries are in abundance this year so the bears should be in there gorging themselves.
