I really don't know anything about cameras. But I think I would like one that I could take vidio instead of still shots. I think it would be fun to take footage while out in the hills. It's seems to happen way to often that I see something awsome by myself and I can't share it with others. Anyone have any suggestions? It would have to be cheap too! LOL! Maybe I should poke around the pawn shops, but I don't know what I'm looking for.

I am not sure where the line between cheap and junk is in the digital camera world but I will tell you my personal experience with my camera. I have the Kodak Easyshare DX 4530 and it has done a wonderful job for me. You can take video clips with sound along with great stills. It is very user friendly and has a decent zoom. It has internal memory with and a MMC/SD card expansion slot. The software is the only complaint I would have about the camera but other than that I really like it and all the pictures I have posted on here were taken with it. Its MSRP is about $299 but I have seen it for $220 online.

My second suggestion is the camera that my best friend uses. It is the Olympus Stylus 300. It is great for the outdoor enthusiast. It is weather proof. Meaning that it will withstand dusty conditions and moisture situations. It does not have the hassel of a lens cap and it takes great pictures and video. It is smaller than the Kodak and will fit into a shirt without a hole lot of bulk. That is the camera I originally wanted but my parents bought the Kodak for me last year for Christmas so I can't complain about that. The Stylus 300 runs about $230. It is probably one of the better cameras for the money but this is all just one mans opinion. I hope some of this helps you decide. Good luck on your hunt for a camera.

Another Excellent camera for a reasonable price is the Canon A80 Powershot. It features a 4 mega pixel capability, it uses compact flash cards, it can take short video clip capability. It is a very user friendly camera plus it has all kinds of professional type programing modes. You can also buy extra lenses for it, and an off board flash. The software that comes with it is easy for any beginner to master and has lots of options for enhancing photos. Here's a link for an ebay sale of the Canon A80: cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=46315&item=3854816983&rd=1I really love my Canon A80 and so does everyone that I allow to try it out. It's really a versatile camera! I bought my off ebay from 47th. Street photo. I bought the deluxe kit with a wide angle lens, a telephoto lens, a lens shield, extra compact flash card, flash, small, medium and large camera case, a tabletop tripod, a full size tripod, and shipping for $479. I haven't been sorry for a single minute! Dick Here's a photo taken with the camera, cropped and edited with an enhancement. notice how much detail is in the photo and how crisp it is.
