Yeah, I too thought it was a little high. I did have two high cap. mags, but still. I'm shopping for a rifle for myself so I always look to see what they have for pistols. I'm sure I'll see more out there!

While you are out there shopping keep an eye out for a 300 Mag or the like for me. What are you looking for? I will keep an eye out on this side of town for you if you would like. I am not experienced at purchasing used rifles so if I do find a rifle that I am interested in, I might see if you can take a look at it for me. I know the basic things too look for. The overall appearance of the gun is going to be my main deciding factor. If the previous owner took care of the outside there is a good chance he took care of the inside as well. I always take a bore light with me when I shop.

It was at the Shoot'n Den on Filmore. I've been looking for a Remington 700 in .243 cal. The best price I can find is $350 new. Kind of want to find one used with a scope for that price. Also looking for a Thomson Center Encore in a .243 or 7mm. My problem finding a Thomson is no one has one for me to look at. But they sure can order me one! LOL! I want to see how it fits first before I buy. Don't be worried about buying a used gun. As long as the gun isn't real old, you should do fine. Most people only use their firearms a few times a year, then put them away. If the barrel is clean and free of rust, then you should be comfortable that the rest of the gun should be in good working order. Ed

You guys know about the gun show in Pueblo, February 19 & 20? Have not heard anything on this. Do you know where it will be held? I work weekends anyways. I have been to a few gun shows here in Colorado Springs and rarely see any good deals. Most of the good deals are on junk! But they are still fun to go to. Ed

I met him through darts. I will have to go over there and check it out. Thanks Ed. If I see a Remington 700 or a TC Encore 700 or .243 I will let you know. I am going to try and attend the show in Pueblo once I figure out where it is. If there is a good deal on one of those I can call your phone and leave you a message if you want.

Ed,
You said you were looking for a TC Encore, you looking for a setup like Gregs or in the rifle style, so it can handle the longer barrels? I bought Greg's at Sportmans Warehouse in Grand Junction. At the time they had both styles showcased.
We get a mailing from a company called Bill Hicks Ltd. they sometimes have pretty good sales on the TC Encore and the different barrels. I will see if I can find one of the mailings and get the address or phone # so you can call them and get on their mailing list, they do most of their business with dealers, and to purchase a firearm through them you need a dealers license. But I dont think you need a dealers license if you buy the TC Encore. I know we bought our first muzzle loaders through them and didnt need a license.
You looking for it in a stainless steel or blued?

When you were here Greg showed you his stainless steel TC Encore, with pistol grips, a 15" barrel, a 3-9x scope, and a 223 barrel on it. he uses it for coyote huntin. Whats nice is with these TC Encores once once you have the setup you can order different caliber barrels for it. Greg wants to get a 243 barrel, 15", and hunt his bear and buck next year with it. He wont go over the 15" barrel with the pistol grips.

Just not sure yet on the single shot. I remember Gregs pistol, but I'm a better shot with a rifle. What would be better yet for coyote hunt'n is my bow. Just need to be at full draw when they walk in.... Ed

Gettin a coyote with a bow would be fun! Problem never know for sure when to draw back as they could come in at anytime, either slow and cautious or on a dead run. You dont dare move when you see them unless you are totally concealed as they will bolt at the slightest movement. So the problem of when to draw back arrow, cant hold it back indefinitely. I have hunted deer, elk and grouse with bow but never coyotes. Guess when they come in on the fight I want to know I am ready and with something that will put them down. Has been many times we have killed our coyotes within 5 feet of us when they have made that lunge to attack. But of course we have our whites on and sittin in the snow or in bushes in the snow and sometimes see them coming in but lose sight as we are sitting low enough, and then all of a sudden they are on top of us. Talk about an adrenaline rush!
